Here is a very simple way to understand God's plan. Think of it this way. God's gift to you is the life He gave you. Our gift to God is how we live our lives. Each day, and each moment of our lives should be a gift to God. If you have fear in your life, would you wrap up fear as a gift and give it to God? Most likely you would say no. If you have confusion in your life, would you wrap up confusion and give it to God as a gift? Again, I would guess most likely not.
If we take each moment of our lives and ask ourselves if our actions, thoughts, words, and deeds would be worthy to be wrapped up as a gift to God realizing this is our thanks for His giving us life. Most definitely, we would think twice about our gift or our behavior as a Christian. This is not rocket science. God doesn't tease us like that. When we treat our life as a gift to God it is definitely much easier to discern what actions we should take.
If you are unhappy with your life, then you have only one choice. The choice is to change your behavior. You are looking for a behavior that would be acceptable to God. I think you know perfectly well, as a Christian, what behavior is a gift to God. When you make choices that are gifts, you know you are pleasing God.
The enemy would like nothing better than to keep you wondering. Understand this; God does not keep you wondering. God has given you a free will to make any choice you wish. Therefore, it's your choice as to whether your life is in God's plan. God does not make His plan for your life a deep, dark secret. His plan for your life is as easy to read as the words on this page.
You've all heard the saying, if you always do, what you always done, you'll always get, what you've always got. If you keep getting confused about God's plan for your life, then quit behaving in the same way you've always done. You must make changes in your life. How could this be any easier to follow? You make the choice.
This is so simple that is barely takes a leap of faith. All it takes to live your life according to God's plan is to ensure each and every day of your life is worthy to be a gift to God. If you continue to keep your eyes on the future you have lost the precious moments God gave you today. When you dwell on the past it's impossible to hear God in the present. Remember to give God thanks in all things. God has only given you today. Don't waste it on the future or the past.
Our lives are paved with failures as we strive to be more Christ-like. But, these failures all have a lesson for us to learn. We need to learn the lessons from our failures. If we keep falling short in the same way, then we haven't learned the lessons God intended us to know. Regretting our mistakes is not the same as learning a lesson from our mistakes. When you have learned the lesson, your behavior will change.
Ask yourself the question. Am I continuing to suffer from the same kind of adversity in life? If the answer is yes, then you need to change the way you behave, think, or act. You can't move forward if you insist on continuing to keep your life in a status quo mode, refusing to learn the lessons life teaches us.
God's love for you is new every morning. Arise, each day with the promise in your heart to make this day in your life a gift to God. That's all you have to do. Would you give a gift to a friend or loved one that you felt was not even a gift, but an insult? Of course, you wouldn't. Do no less for your Savior. Make each day the gift of thanks for what God has given you. Wrap your life in shiny paper with a beautiful bow and hand this gift to God. When you do this you will definitely be living the life God planned for you. You are fulfilling God's purpose for your life.
